Relay 0.68.0
Process variable text with regex and test the result before running a workflow.
Added
Variable chips now support regular expression extraction and replacement. Open the beaker to paste input, edit the rule, and test its output on the selected Relay node without running workflow actions. Treat as filename exposes the file name, name without extension, and extension on ordinary text.
Disable individual workflow actions without removing their settings or connections. A reached disabled action passes its input through Success and appears as skipped in the job record.
S3 Transfer reports source size, transferred size, and storage class. After an upload, reading stored object details needs the corresponding S3 read permissions. If that read is refused, the upload still succeeds and the unavailable details remain empty.
Fixed
S3 transfer failures now reach the Error branch with the transfer target and
failure kind. An upload with an uncertain result reports outcome_unknown;
check the bucket before retrying. Available data excludes a failed step's
success outputs on its own Error branch.
Copy and Move with overwrite disabled now work on storage that does not support hard links, including LucidLink. The same fallback applies to Secure Copy Protocol (SCP) and S3 downloads.
Compatibility
Update Relay nodes and desktop consoles before using the new variable processing and disabled-action controls. Relay 0.68.0 saves and imports every workflow in format 4, including workflows without disabled actions. Earlier nodes cannot import those format 4 workflows or restore backups containing them. Update receiving nodes before moving workflows between nodes. Updated nodes retain compatibility with format 3 workflows.
Extract JSON values now requires its source variable to be available on every path to the step. Existing workflows that set this variable on only one branch can stop running after upgrading. Check these steps before upgrading.
Upgrade
Back up workflows before upgrading. Keep the existing Windows service account during installation. Control Room provides Mac and Windows updates; Ubuntu uses the production package directly.
Known issues
On storage without hard links, avoid another program writing the same destination during a no-overwrite copy, move, SCP download, or S3 download. An interrupted transfer can leave an empty destination file.
