Relay / Release Notes
Relay 0.69.0
Connect Iconik in your browser and run Iconik Jobs from custom actions, with no keys to copy.
Added
Connect Relay to Iconik from Settings > Iconik. You approve the connection in a browser, as an Iconik administrator, and Relay links that account. No API keys are copied by hand. Relay creates one application and one token in Iconik, and it keeps a custom action for each context of each Iconik Job. The connection needs an active subscription license and North Shore Automation's cloud service. A connection test confirms the link before the connection shows Connected.
Iconik Jobs start a workflow when a person runs the job's custom action in Iconik. Each job names its contexts and its target workflow. The click's details, such as the asset and the person who ran it, are available to the workflow.
An Iconik Job Test now keeps the click as a Test input. Replay runs the current draft again with the same values, without a new click in Iconik. A Replay does real work and can write to Iconik again.
Disconnect Iconik removes the custom actions and the cloud connection. Choose Keep credential to keep native Iconik workflow steps working, or Revoke credential to remove this installation's Iconik access.
Changed
Custom actions now use the Iconik Job name alone as their title. A
destination label you set is kept. Existing custom actions lose the automatic
[Relay] suffix in place.
Fixed
An Iconik file value, such as a file's Directory path, now works for every asset. Before, the value kept the Test sample's folder and filename, so a For Each loop or a later job with a different asset stopped with "Iconik value is missing". To update an existing workflow, run the Test again, insert each file value again from Available data, and set its path extraction again.
The Windows installer now checks the service account password when you select Next on the credentials screen. A wrong, locked, or expired password shows a clear message, and you can type it again. Scripted installs, repairs and upgrades run the same check before any change.
Compatibility
Managed Iconik needs Relay 0.69.0 and an active subscription license. Trial codes, demo codes and evaluation builds cannot connect.
Upgrade
Back up workflows before upgrading. On upgrade, managed mode removes stored, hand-entered Iconik credentials at startup. Connect through Settings > Iconik before running Iconik steps. Workflows and run history remain. Keep the existing Windows service account during installation. Control Room provides Mac and Windows updates; Ubuntu uses the production package directly.
Known issues
A license activation can connect one Relay installation. A cloned or restored copy of a machine cannot connect with the same activation until machine replacement ships; contact support@northshoreautomation.com.
