Relay / Release Notes
Relay 0.71.0
Organize workflows in folders, delete old jobs, and recover a stuck Iconik disconnect.
Added
The Workflows page can hold workflows in folders. Folders are optional and can nest. Right-click a folder to add a subfolder, rename it, move it, or delete it. Move workflows with a row menu, by selecting several, or by drag and drop. Deleting a folder moves its workflows and subfolders up one level. It never deletes a workflow. Search all workflows looks in every folder. Filter the list by All, Enabled, or Disabled, and sort it by Name, Created, or Modified.
You can delete finished jobs. Tick rows in Jobs, select every job that matches your filters, use Delete all finished jobs... in History settings, or choose Delete job in a job's detail. Each delete states the exact count and cannot be undone. It also removes the job's logs, evidence, and Statistics. Running, queued, and waiting jobs are never deleted.
HTTP Request supports Basic authentication with a stored Basic auth credential. Relay removes the password from responses and errors.
If an Iconik disconnect ends with an unknown result, Relay now checks the result
with the cloud by itself. Check status runs a check at once. After 2
minutes, Clear and reconnect lets you start Connect again. It asks you to
type DISCONNECT.
Changed
Jobs has compact Status and Workflow menus and one Time picker. Time includes the last 15 minutes, last hour, and last 4 hours, longer periods, and custom dates and times. Selecting jobs no longer moves the table. A header checkbox selects all loaded jobs.
History settings keeps job history for a whole number of days, at least 1.
Amazon SQS queue settings are now part of the Amazon SQS credential. Credentials is the one place to add, test, and remove queue connections. Queues saved by earlier releases keep working and appear under their credential.
The workflow switch reads Enabled and Disabled instead of On and Off.
Variable chips in text fields sit closer together and are easier to click between.
The actions chapter of the manual now has one page for each action.
Fixed
Recent Jobs periods follow the node's clock. Before, a clock difference between the console and a remote node could hide new jobs.
A disconnect with an unknown result no longer ends in a message that says to contact support.
HTTP Request now removes stored secrets from network error messages too.
Removed
Settings > Advanced > External queues. Manage queue connections in Credentials.
Iconik is no longer an HTTP Request authentication choice for new steps. Saved steps that use it keep running. Use the native Iconik actions for new Iconik work.
Compatibility
Managed Iconik needs Relay 0.69.0 or later and an active subscription license. Trial codes, demo codes and evaluation builds cannot connect. A node older than 0.71.0 shows the plain workflow list and cannot delete jobs until it is updated.
Upgrade
Back up workflows before upgrading. Existing workflows, queues, and SQS Queue triggers need no change. Control Room provides Mac and Windows updates; Ubuntu uses the production package directly.
Known issues
If an Iconik connection stops before setup finishes, for example while the license cannot be checked, Settings offers no way to remove it. Contact support@northshoreautomation.com.
A license activation can connect one Relay installation. A cloned or restored copy of a machine cannot connect with the same activation until machine replacement ships.
