Configuration and behavior
| Parameter | Notes |
|---|---|
| Workflow * | Picked from this node's workflows that have a Start Workflow trigger, enabled or not. A disabled or draft workflow shows a note, such as Archive (disabled). Must be static - no variables. |
| Body | Optional JSON; blank sends {}. Must be exactly one JSON value. You can insert a complete structured value as the whole body or as an unquoted value inside a JSON template. |
Outputs: child_workflow_id, child_run_id, body. The child is a separate job; the parent continues at once. You can save and enable the parent while the child is still disabled or a draft. Each time a run reaches this step, Relay checks the child again: if the child is disabled, the step fails with the child workflow is disabled; enable it so this step can start it, and a draft child fails with the child workflow is a draft; save it as executable so this step can start it. The step then follows its error path, and no child job starts. The child sees the body as ${trigger.start.payload} and knows its parent's IDs (chapter 5.6). The body is JSON-bearing, so a recorded structured value can expose nested fields in Available data.
